RAILWAYS BOARDING TRAIN NOT STOPPING ON PLATFORM ON CONFIRMED BOOKING

COMPLAINT: TRAIN NO. 2397 OF 19.07.2010 BOARDING FROM VINDHYACHAL STATION-COMPLAINT AGAINST OFFICERS ON DUTY AT THE PLATFORM (INCLUDING THE STATION MASTER) AND THE RPF PEOPLE ON DUTY IN THE TRAIN

Sir,

WE WERE BOOKED IN THE ABOVE MENTIONED TRAIN NO 2397 MAHABHODHI EXPRESS FROM VINDHYACHAL TO NEW DELHI OF 19.07.2010 UNDER PNR NO. 6441126003 FOR 4 PASSANGERS AND UNDER PNR NO. 6442211104 FOR 3 PASSENGERS. THE TRAIN WAS LATE BY ABOUT HALF AN HOUR. THE ACTUAL TIME AT VINDHYACHAL IS 18.48 PM BUT IT WAS TO COME AT 17.11 PM. THE TRAIN WAS TO COME AT PLAT FORM NO. 3. THE STOPPAGE TIME IS ONLY 1 MINUTE. IT WAS BEING ANNOUNCED REGULARLY THAT THE TRAIN IS COMING AT P NO 3 AND EVEN AFTER THAT IT WAS BEING ANNOUNCED THAT THE TRAIN IS STANDING AT P NO. 3. BUT IN FACT THE TRAIN DID NOT COME AT PLATFORM NO 3. IT CAME AT THE PARALLEL LINE OF THE P NO 3 WHICH HAS NO PLATFORM AT ALL. WE WERE FORCED TO GET DOWN ON THE RAILWAY TRACK RISKING OUR LIVES TO BOARD THE TRAIN. WHEN WE TRIED TO BOARD THE TRAIN FROM A 3 TIER COACH AHEAD OF THE PANTRY CAR WE COULD NOT BOARD THE TRAIN WITH OUR ENTIRE LUGGAGE AND ALL THE PASSENGERS. WE TRIED TO PULL THE CHAIN BUT THE RPF (RAILWAY POLICE) PERSONAL ON DUTY IN THAT COMPARTMENT MISBEHAVED WITH US AND THREATENED THAT THEY WILL NOT ALLOW FOR THE CHAIN TO BE PULLED UP. I WANT TO ASK THAT FOR WHAT THESE RPF PEOPLE ARE THERE IN THE TRAIN? FOR THE SAFETY AND COMFORT OF THE PASSENGERS OR TO HARASS THEM. THE ONLY HELP WE RECEIVED WAS FROM THE TT OF THE AC COACH WHO ALSO PULLED THE CHAIN AND HELPED US IN BOARDING THE TRAIN. HIS ACT IS REALLY COMMENDABLE.

I WANT TO LODGE COMPLAINT AND WANT THAT STRICT ACTION SHOULD BE TAKEN AGAINST THE FOLLOWING:

1. THE OFFICERS ON DUTY (INCLUDING THE STATION MASTER) AT THE VINDHYACHAL STATION WHO WERE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE WRONG TAXING OF THE TRAIN WHEN THERE IS A SCHEDULED STOPPAGE OF THE TRAIN AT THE STATION AND THERE ARE PASSENGERS INCLUDING LADIES WHO HAVE TO BOARD THE TRAIN WITH LUGGAGE.

2. HOW CAN THE RAILWAY BE SO LAX AND IRRESPONSIBLE BY FORCING PASSENGERS TO BOARD A TRAIN BY CROSSING THE TRACKS WITH ONLY ONE MINUTE STOPPAGE?

3. WE ALSO WANT THAT STRICT ACTION BE TAKEN AGAINST THE RPF PERSONAL ON DUTY IN THE 3 TIER COMPARTMENT AHEAD OF THE PANTRY CAR WHO DID NOT MAKE ANY EFFORT TO HELP US. EVEN THEY MISBEHAVED AND SAID THAT IF YOU ALL CAN NOT BOARD THE TRAIN THAN YOU ALL SHOULD GET DOWN.

4. WE ARE ALL QUIET SHOCKED WITH SUCH KIND OF TREATMENT BY THE RAILWAYS AND WE WOULD LIKE TO CLAIM SUITABLE COMPENSATION FOR THE PHYSICAL AND MENTAL AGONY WHICH WE HAD TO SUFFER EVEN AFTER HAVING CONFIRMED TICKETS OF AC COACH FOR A TRAIN. ONE OF THE LADY PASSENGERS R GUPTA HAD A FRACTURE IN HER RIGHT HAND WHICH GOT WORSE BY CLIMBING UP FROM LOW GROUND FLOOR WHERE THERE WAS NO PLATFORM IN THE TRAIN.
