Camera Lens Broken

I purshased a camera in May for my grandaughter as a presnet that I planned to give her this month. When I gave her the camera and she opened the box the batteries were corroded and the camera lens was broken. The camera had been stored carefully. I had opened the box and it was all wrapped in bubble wrap so I assumed it was in good working condition. I would like a refund or a new camera. Thank you, Sheryl
