I had purchased a 390 lit LG make refrigerator from M/S Alang Ispat (Samudra Sales) at Jamnagar (Guj.) in April for Rs.24000/-. The machine started giving trouble of excess cooling from the very first month of purchase as a result of which the materials kept in the basket got spoiled and I was not getting the value of the money spent in buying the product. The matter was brought to the notice of the service engineer who visited and tried his level best to adjust the temperature settings but could not succeed. The problem persisted even after some part was also changed and it was proven that the defect is a manufacturing defect. After a long and gruesome follow up of almost a year, the company agreed to replace the machine but informed me that the model which I had purchased had become obsolete and I was made to pay an additional amount of Rs.3050/- for a so called higher version (model) which is exactly the same (at least I did not notice any difference). The additional amount was nothing but the depreciation value for the machine for 1 yr. To my utter surprise, despite of all the above there was no respite for me as the problem of excess cooling persisted in the changed machine also.
I have been following up with the company’s branch office at Rajkot / regional office at Ahmedabad / corporate office at Noida thru customer care services but all in vain and I have been suffering till today. I would like to take up the case thru your good offices for resolution of the problem once for all in terms of the refund of the amount and a suitable compensation for the mental tension and agony I have gone thru the last 2 years and also the material loss I have incurred all these days.
