I booked a Maruti Wagon R LXI (Duo) and paid an advance as the initial booking amount on February 28 . On March 07 the full amount was paid to Chowgule Industries Limited, Campal, Panaji, Goa, India. At the time of booking I had clearly informed that I am only taking a car manufactured in 2009.
However, on March 09 when I take the delivery of the car I am shocked to know that a vehicle which was manufactured in September is registered in my name.
Having paid the money for the vehicle in March I assume that the vehicle also should be of 2009.The logic provided by Chowgule Industries is that the car left Maruti's yard in Gurgoan in September and reached Goa on January 23. This means it took five months for the truck to reach Goa from Gurgoan. I have refused to take delivery of the vehicle as i even suspect it to be a Demo car which was supposed to delivered to me on 9 March.
I just wanted a clarification from Maruti Suzuki India Ltd whether it is the company's policy to dump old unsold cars on unsuspecting customers.
Thank you
