Withdrawl of PF Ammount

Dear sir,

This is Manjunatha. B, I was working in ABB Ltd., Bangalore. They are having there own PF trust.

I left the service and applied for a PF ammount reimbursement, today I got a mail from ABB, that they will deduct the TAX in my reimbursement of PF ammount.

Please correct me if Iam wrong, the PF ammount will be tax free ammount. Why the company is deducting the TAX from that ammount?

Please provide me the justification and guide me.
