I bought Nokia 1661 black model on 25th April in India from Sikar dealer. The handset was found defective .1.Its Loud speaker did not work 2. The software hangs showing code error message ending removing battery and replacing it and sound is split and low level even at full volume.
In addition to it I found the new designs of Nokia launched are fragile and even if they fall from your central table in drawing room, the body parts come out. As compared to that old model 1600 was very robust and never gave me any problem. Its loud speaker was also very good.
I took it to one service centre in Jodhpur.they could not remove defects and asked me to send to NOIDA centre for repairs. Without any other mobile handset it was not possible. I asked for replacement as I cant keep visiting Nokia from a remote location and spare the set. It costs me huge money to travel and visit Nokia too.
It was agreed to swap a new set but promise was withdrawn. No reasons were given. result is even after filing notice to company and to Government of India forum, nothing has been done.
It is shocking to see such badly designed and defective piece being marketed and then no action on complaint for 3.5 months causing immense mental torture and harassment besides lot of money expenditure.
IT is recommended that avoid Nokia if you can.there are several good brands and models now available in market. I doubt if Nokia international has such bad service. It is typical Indian mentality. To teach them lesson consumers should boycott the product and company untill they take proactive and positive action to improve product and service delivery. Consumer power only is available to customers.
