I purchased Nokia N70-1 Music Edition hand set from M/S Desire Communications, Sarabha Nagar, Ludhiana in May. At the time of purchase this shop claimed that they are dealers of the NOKIA and there will no problem with regard to after sales support. Since the very beginning the handset was beset with the following snags:
(a) Very poor battery back up of only a day despite moderate usage of phone.
(b) Auto functioning of music key during incoming call and while dialing outgoing number.
(c) Auto functioning of no. 4 key.
I initially took the phone to M/S Desire Communications who informed me that there is some problem in the phone settings. This settings was made right by them. But the problem still persisted and i again took my phone to them. This time they informed me that problem is due to software and directed me to the Nokia Care, Ludhiana where I gave my phone for software upgrade. After software upgrade Nokia care assured me that problems will be sorted out. However, the problem still persisted and i again visited Nokia care, Ludhiana and this time they carried out replacement of the battery in order to sort out problem of battery back up.
The problem however still persisted and I took phone to Nokia Care, Saharanpur this time in the month of Jan 09 since I am posted there. To my shock they in formed me that warranty of my handset has expired on 31 Dec 08. As mentioned I purchased this phone in May 08, thereby the warranty should have been till May 09. Citing this as an excuse they refused to take my phone under warranty repair. This is despite the fact that bill of purchase was produced.
During my visit to Ludhiana I visited M/S Desire Communications and told them about the problem to which they offered to get the phone repaired. They handed over the phone to Nokia care vide job sheet no.123433527090209163 dated 09 Feb 09.
Ever since I have been checking the status of my phone but to no avail. Every time i am told that it will take some more time. As a result more than 01 month and 13 days have elapsed.
About two days back i contacted Nokia customer care, my complaint was registered as complaint no. mobile super 2 34ZY09 and i asked to contact after 48 hours. When i called after 48 hours I was informed that my handset will be delivered on 27 Mar 09.Considering delays in the past this deadline is very doubtful.
In the meantime my communications has suffered towards which the company is not at all concerned. This in addition to the harassment of frequent visit to dealer/nokia care and tension. I purchased this phone for Rs 10, 300 from my hard earned money. Therefore, the company must address my grievances at the earliest and return my phone after full repair or replace the set.
