My client died in April. His wife is alive. The deceased person's income consist of pension and interest on various deposits where taxes have been deducted. Kindly let me know the proceedure for Registering for the purpose of viewing 26AS statement. This is required for me to prepare correct Tax return for the Assessment Year 10. Whether the wife can apply and get registered since she has to sign the Return of income on behalf of her husband.
The service providers (viz) Karvy consultants, etc are not able to guide me in this situation.
