Delay in passport processing

Hi..

I am also facing the same problem.

I have applied for adding spouse name in my passport and still waiting for police verification call.

Police says that they haven't receive the application from the passport office yet and online status reflect that the police verification report is yet to come. Means the application is hanging somewhere between passport office and police station.

I need to travel to my native for a month, I dont know what to do?

Is there any way we can abort the processing and reapply again in future?

Please let me know is it possible to stop the processing and if yes how can I do that?
