CHEATING BY PHILIPS INDIA USING UNFAIR TRADE PRACTICES AND SUBSTANDARD SERVICES

I am Jayesh Devkar, currently in Surat, State Gujarat, INDIA. I just purchased a PHILIPS PRODUCT from Croma, worth Rs 6995/, which is a complete kitchen appliance. (Juicer, mixer, grinder, all in one). On January 18, the company persons came to install the product. I asked the persons to give a demonstration of the product as mentioned on the box of the product. I bought a pineapple, cut into small pieces and asked him to give me a demo, showing me how to prepare pineapple juice. To my utter dismay, I was shocked to notice that the juice could not be prepared. The company person, who had come to my residence was shocked, too. He called some one, at the Philips office at Baroda, Mobile number 9825445159. The officer/executive on the said mobile from Baroda, instructed that pineapple juice could not be prepared and only fruits which are soft can be prepared and he instead asked his person to see the manual and try. I was informed the same by the company person who were at my residence. The answer from the company people surprised me completely, as I wanted to know, what does soft fruits mean. I was informed that I can only prepare grapes juice. HIGHLY OBNOXIOUS!! On the product box, there were ample clear pictures of a pineapple and other fruits with the jar. Then how come the executives claim, that Pineapple juice could not be prepared. Either it is misleading advertisement or the product was not right. I personally called up the same above mentioned number and spoke to the said executive/officer at Baroda office, who in turn asked me to wait and give him some 15 minutes to find out and then he shall revert back to me. I waited for more than a hour and then on not receiving any call from him, I called up again, just to receive the same reply that he will be calling me in short time, may be in next 15 minutes. I am yet waiting to receive the call and reply. I now feel, that this is a fit case of improprer trade practise and misleading advertisements and needs to be put up at the appropriate regulatory level. I am shocked and surprised and feel cheated. The piece of product which I habe purchased is having scratches on the plastic portion of the jars and the motor unit. I had to visit the CROMA showroom again to show him the piece. On reaching there, he showed me several other units of the same model, and they all had scratches. I was informed that Philips are sending same models with scrathes. I was told to select from all the units of the same models, which had scratches on it. The company person who had come in the morning informed me that I need to replace the unit. And on reaching the stores, all units were the same. I feel betrayed by a company such as PHILIPS INDIA. I expect an explanation on my details, failing which I shall approach competent authorities. The Philips company is yet to reply to my several emails and fax sent to their corporate office. The company is LITERALLY CHEATING THE CITIZENS OF THIS COUNTRY. I am cheated by them, too. The company has no courtesy to reply to the correspondences made by the customers. The Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of India, should instruct these foreign companies to stop cheating its citizens. I am writing letters since January and today is April. Till date no one has replied to any of my complaints. I wasted my money by purchasing a product of PHILIPS INDIA. They have cheated me. You purchase a complete kitchen appliance and when you have to prepare fruit juice, you are told that you can only prepare grapes juice. What sort of advice the company wants to give??

I am in loss of words whether I should conclude my grievance, with a thanking you, as there is nothing the company gave me for which I should grace my letter with a THANKING YOU . I am put unnecessary mental agony and trouble for no reasons,
