Sending bill/summence for a cancelled service

Hi,

My brother was using a Airtel postpaid connection for nearly two years and when he decided to go to Malaysia, I canceled the same for him by going to the Airtel kadavantra office in Cochin. They accepeted the cancellation and broke the SIM card in front of me and put the number to prepaid account for others to use. Other than this, my brother send a mail to [email protected] and requested the cancellation and received the reply regarding the cancellation.

Now, they are sending bills and asking us to pay the same. When asked about this at the airtel office they says to ignore it. Now its been a year and we haven't used this mobile or connection. Now they are still sending some bill and saying to pay this, else they will send summence from court.

How to handle this case. Its been hectic using this connection.
