Problem in SIM not being properly addressed

My father has purchased a SIM from airtel, it has got the problem that it automatically receives all incoming calls without user input, i hace checked this in one china mobile and one spice dual sim mobile. this sim works properly with some sets, while some other airtel sim work properly on the abovementioned sets. the company customer care asks us to purchase another sim at our own cost, but without giving guarantee that the new sim will work properly on my mobile.
