I represent, MERCURY CHS, in 4th Cross Lane, Lokhandwala, Mumbai - 400053
It is for the past 4 years that we have not been getting adequate water in out building.
However on 25th of May they erroneously cut the water pipes leading into our building during paving work of the 4th Cross Lane. We immediately brought this to the notice of the contractor carrying out the work as well as in writing to BMC.
From that day on, there is not a single drop of water that has even managed to trickle into our pipes. Any amount of personal visits/complaints in writing have had no effect, nor have we received any letter from the BMC acknowledging our problem.
Our building has been living on Tanker waters for the past few years.
We are still getting assessed bills from BMC & currently, they want us to pay 50% of the total amount based on their assessment & not on actuals before they even register a complaint.
This is shocking & a denial of the basic human right to water.
We want to take this complaint further & get reimbursed by the BMC for water tankers we have been spending for, the drinking water which each of the 68 flats have been buying, since we are unable to use the tanker water for drinking AND a water bill NOT based on assessment, but on actuals.
Thank You
