BMC R ward /Reliance Infrastructure
Non-levelling of road after digging for around six months

This is in continuation of my complaint lodged earlier on Aug 16 thru' this forum. Subsequent to various complaints thru' e-mails to customer service dept of Reliance, their executive personally visited the site and assured that the restoration of dug up road would be followed up by Reliance with BMC. But, almost two months have lapsed since then and no action has been taken by BMC.As per Reliance, Company deposits Rs 1 crore per ward with BMC for diiging/restoration of roads for it's work. BMC deducts @ Rs 8000/per square meter for restoration of dug up roads. Reliance maintains that BMC is at fault. BMC has till date neither restored nor responded to this complaint. It seems the money has been gobbled up by corrupt officers by showing fictitious paper work for repair work undertaken, otherwise there is no reason for delay of around six months since the area was dug up.

It seems RTI route can only yield exact status of the pending matter. Moredetails covered in the following complaint lodged on Aug 16.

Non-levelling of road after digging

Dear Sir,

I am Ex-Chairman of The Seeta Mahal CHS Ltd. located at 5th Kasturba Road, Borivli (East), Mumbai - 66, BMC Ward no R .

In our society there is Reliance Energy Sub-station. Due to some rectification of fault, Reliance had dug up road area around Electric Meter located just opposite our Main Gate about two months (before onset of monsoon) back but till date despite several complaints with Reliance it is still unattended. The reason for approaching BMC is that Reliance Officers have stated that they deposit around Rs 8000 per sq mtr of road dug up with respective BMC ward for levelling of road after their rectification of work. Reliance is maintaining that it is duty of BMC to do the repair work as they have already paid in advance to BMC.

If what Reliance is saying is correct, where this money goes? Why road is not repaired and levelled?

As the area just opposite our main gate is dug up, it gives a very shabby unclean look and nearby people have started dumping leftover and waste disposal at this place creating more unhygenic environment besides blocking the area near our Main gate..

Also Reliance's attitude does not seem to be correct. If consumer is complaining why they don't follow up with BMC to ensure that repairing is done? It is their JOINT DUTY to level the dug up road.

I shall highly appreciate if your forum prevails upon BMC & Reliance to ensure that road levelling work is done at the earliest.

Yours sincerely,

Hitendra Mehta
