Poor food quality provide in Duranto train

Poor quality of food served in train

Subject: Poor quality of food & extremely dirty pantry car.

Ref: My complain at Dt.17.07.11 of Satyam Caterers, on train Duranto train (12284) from H.Nizamudin to Ernakulum.

Sir,

I was travelling in the said train H.Nizamudin to ERS in AC-IIl, at about 44.50hrs I have order one veg meals, at dinner. However the quality of food as well as serving tray is quite poor.. Other item was a dal fry (as per their menu) which is also not good its very poor & very poor smell come out from it, pickle satchel, (not tear able), & one salt pouch which become wet due to wetness in tray. He also did not provide the water pouch. The whole food was worth less This is the story of quality food which is proud service of IRCTC (as I have seen in posters & logos & in your standard menus).

Thus to lodge my protest I have asked the complaint book from the waiter/service boy but he told me, if you desire complaint book then go to the pantry car. I could not understand, when irctc are making such a tall claim about their finest cuisine, quality, clean lines then where it exist. It was total unhygienic condition not only in & around pantry but also the utensils are also very unhygienic & in shabby condition. It seems there was no body every checked their pantry car for months or years together. It also proves that there is no monitoring system exists in the whole system or at least in that train. If a passenger travelling in AC treated in this way how the other class, one can just imagine.

Sir, first I was questioned by the Quality Manager Mr. Rohit that what is the problem with food (with some arrogance), since he has served about 200 meals without any complaint (I thought none of them might have taken pain at this time). After Much reluctance he has given the complaint book as I have lodged my written complaint having number.292990, but I am very much doubtful about his attitude that any action may be taken on their part. This also proves my point that they are well aware of the system that no action will be initiated against them.

Sir, the passenger in the train are totally on the mercy of catering service & if such type of food served then only god can save us. I hope you will take not only suitable action, but also arrange to return the charges I have paid for worthless food along with compensation. It is also requested to conduct surprise raid on this particular train as early as possible since it seems that such callous attitude of caterers cannot be possible right under your supervision until & unless lower rung official have ignoring their duties. Kindly also confirm the price charged for above meal is correct or not.

Awaiting your action as well as reply in this regard, since I am contemplating the issue with my legal advisor for filing the case in consumer court.
