Passport Office Delhi
Delay in Issuance

I had applied for a renewal of passport at the District Passport Cell, Gurgaon on dt 27th September.

For more than four months the status page of the Regional passport office, New Delhi showed ' FILE NUMBER EITHER WRONG OR INFORMATION NOT AVAILABLE' . Now after 5Months the status says 'POLICE REPORT CLEAR, PASSPORT UNDER PROCESS'

I think even the passport office does not know how much time it will take to issue a passport. I have already missed many foreign assignments and dont know if i would ever be able to travel. Thanks to the passport office of New Delhi state.

The govt claims that in normal process the passport will reach the applicant within 45days from application, i think they forgot to mention 1year before that.
