Smt PAPIYA DHARA had applied for a new passport on 09/11. Her police verification has been completed in due time and it was OK.
She received a letter from the regional Passport Office, Kolkata, dated 25th March that she was to submit a fresh P.P.Form, stating that she was to submit P.P. Form along with place of birth address, which she submitted, in duplicate, on 09/04. She is 57 years old and is living in the same address since her marriage in 1972, she had no problem with her police verification.
It is OK for her, if the Passport office in Kolkata wanted to verify the place of the birth address of almost a senior citizen holding a valid ration card, Voter I.D., an Income Tax PAN Card and an age old bank account, with a nationalised bank. The address of her place of birth has been submitted, as was asked for.
The reason for her applying for a passport was that she wanted to visit her only granddaughter, living outside India. Now if you do not wish to give her the Passport, so that she may visit her Granddaughter, it’s ok, at least inform her that you being an ordinary Indian grandmother, have no right to see your only grandchild.
Hope someone will have the decency to inform her or at least update her “status” on your website.
