The organisers of the several Durga Pujas in and around CR Park and all over Delhi have indiscriminately felled and cut trees to pave the free passage of their huge images of the Goddess as well as for their so-called aesthetics. It is not known if the concerned authorities are aware of this vandalism. In addition, they have erected huge gates with bamboo poles, thus eating away at least 8-10 feet of all the roads in CR park (and obviously in other areas). Will the authorities look into at least the envioronmental problems of destruction of trees, apart from doing damage to the public roads by leaving huge holes all ariund on the roads?
