Hired this packer and mover- Great Villa for local NCR shifting... very very bad experience. 2 people came to my place, assessed the requirement in detail..saw the total amount of goods to be transferred and then quoted an amount of Rs 3500. With mutual consent, the staff came on the day of shifting, but they came with only 3-4 carton boxes, stating the amount of goods assessed is sufficient for 2-3 cartons. Goods to be transferred was about 15 cartons... they bought used cartons from nearby grocery shop and used my blankets to 'pack'. Somehow, managed to load the stuff in a mini van which they brought with themselves. On the way, 4-5 people from great villa packers and movers stopped my car, truck carrying the hosehold goods and demanded for Rs 6000. When i asked the reason, they replied that extra goods were included... i gave them a different assessment of the goods to be transferred when they came to assess the goods before the transfer! All 4 were drunk.kept on using non professional parlance..even defamatory ..had to meet their requirement... in the end got my goods moved, in a shabby condition, with broken glasses, sofa legs, etc, etc for a price of a high end packers and movers.
Why such unprofessionalsm exists... why does the government not issue licenses to packers and movers?
