I was a subscriber of a cell phone service in India. The company I entered a contract into was BPL India which subsequently became to be known as HUTCH. Even though I pay my bills on time, my service is constantly interupted because they do not care to ensure honest clients are provided the service they have subscribed to.

Today my cellular service is not working because the provider has decided to "Investigate" why they went wrong? They have identified that they have done something wrong in regards to terminating my service even though I have paid my bills on time. The last time I spoke to them was yesterday when they told me that they acknowledge they have made a mistake. When I asked them why then not activate my service, they assured me that it will be done in "2 Hours". It is over 14 hours now and no service yet.

Dealing with Hutch is like dealing with the mafia. There has been occations when I call their office and their staff refuse to identify themselves. When I question to whome I am talking to they mention "Staff". When I ask their name, they will provide me with some name, and when I call back to talk to this individual, they say no such name exists.

Finally I got through to a real person who is named "Robin" who seems to show consideration but with failed promises. The name of the non-existant person was "Prashant". The local Hutch service number I call is 0484 2321111.

I have had problems for no fault of mine with Hutch. There seems to be a lack of service commintment and they seem to say anyting they want to get over a situation. Subsequent calls leads to excuses. Over the last few weeks, the man hours lost in just trying to re-activate my service even though I have paid my bills on time is enormous.

I have 2 staff in my office provide me support and every time I call hutch they seem to want to know the nature of the problem and details which is repeated at each call. They dont seem to have a system where they can pull out information about a client from their system. Absolute frustration.

I am just waiting to see when all this is going to be resolved and hopefully at the end of the day, I will leave HUTCH and move on to a more reliable service. Unfortunately, being a business phone I have the number listed on my business cards and other contact data. I would have left HUTCH India if not for this.
