Apollo Infratech Pvt Ltd
Service Deficiency & Supply of defective product

Suggestion for Contractors, Engineers and Builders: NEVER BUY EQUIPMENT FROM APOLLO INFRATECH PVT LTD.

We bought a mobile concrete batching plant and were unable to get it commissioned for more than 2 months. Apollo does not have service back up at all in North India. Concept of Customer Service is non existant in the companies policies. Copy of emails will clarify my woes :

18 June

Dear All,

Kindly note the following facts :

a) Replacement of Elge Compressor: We were assured that service engineer would be here by 18th afternoon. No body including your representative - Mr. Tarun Bhardwaj, who visited us yesterdary, bothered to coordinate the same or to ensure that the Elge service engineer will be at our site to take of the problems. On calling Mr. Bhardwaj around noon time, on my instance, I was finally told that the engineer Mr. Arun - 9910995159 is on his way. Around 1.00 PM Mr. Arun calls and informs that the service engineer got unwell on way to our site thus will be reaching our site tomorrow (i.e., on 19th June)!! He further clarified that he is not THE ENGINEER, but service coordinator.

b) Replacement of Head Pully Shaft: Mr. Tarun Bharwaj assured that the engineer will be here by the afternoon of 18th June. On my follow up with Mr. Bharat, I was told by him that Mr. Dharminder will reach site by the afternoon of 19th June!!!

c) No response till date..!!!

d) Nobody has taken onus of plant commissioning ...!!

Regards

Vineet Aggarwal

Dear Mr. Patel,

This is just to inform you that Mr. Tarun Bhardwaj, Area Manager visited our site today. I was surprised when he asked me "what are the problems? ". Mr. Bhardwaj was totally unaware of the problems and was not briefed by any senior person in your organization!!

However he assured that he come with the Elge compressor engineer tomorrow to repair the same.

After Mr. Bhardwaj left, the plant again broke down around 4PM after production of 18 cum!!

This time Shaft of Head Pulley has broken down. As I understand this is a common problem in all your plants! I am told the turn around time for repairs is two days i.e., our plant will be non operational for three days.

Kindly note that today we have incured additional losses on account of loss in production, delay in work progress, expenses on men and machinery etc.

Other problems which have been reported are :

a) In absence of safe working area, cement labour is refusing to work - your engineers says this is a mobile plant, thus its not necessary to make such provisions

b) Mesh (Jali) of cement hopper has bent and deflected

Kindly understand that this is a final notice before we proceed with full fledged leagal action against you.

Regards

Dear Mr. Patel,

It really unfortunate that inspite of our mails, no body has even bothered to respond / call to discuss the issues / take any action or made any efforts to resolve the problems for commissioning of the plant. We have no to express our frustration and anger.

I am sure that you are aware that "Service Deficency" is covered under consumers act and the laws of the land. Also note that, this not only a case of service deficency but also of uncalled for financial losses.

Dear Mr. Narula,

Kindly note that, in your presence today, Mr. Paresh Pandya from M/s Prima Automation (India) Pvt Ltd and Mr. Parajapati Manhar from M/s Apollo, tried fixing the problems with the concrete plant supplied by you, but the following issues are still not resolved :

a) Aggregate gets stuck on both sides of lower roller shaft, which has to be removed manually. This is resulting into lot of wear and tear of the shaft.

b) Aggregate spillage at lower end of the aggregate conveyor. We feel this is due to faulty design of the discharge hopper

c) Elge Compressor is not working properly and taking auto start command. It has to be manually reset.

d) No protection to motors and panel from rain etc has been provided

e) The plant has not yet been calibrated - it is proposed to be done tomorrow

Please find attached video clip of the problem mentioned at (b) above.

Dear Mr. Narula,

Sorry to inform you that your plant is still not operational. Please note this is definitely an end to our relationship with you as well as Apollo. Despite promising us that you are visiting us for discussions you failed to turn up.

You have been telling us that "engineer" from Apollo is coming to commission the plant, but Apollo quite obviously, been sending lower level technicians, who are unable to identify or rectify the problems. The technicians sent by Apollo, have been very casual in their approach and love to sit in their hotel room at Jhajjar instead of being at Plant site at Beri.

For more than last four weeks, we have been chasing and requesting you as well as well as Apollo's regional manager - Mr. Neeraj Kapoor, DGM - Mr. Sanjiv Torvi, Mr. Saurin Mistry, Mr. Bharat Patel, Mr. Saha and others but there is no action on ground level, except lip service. The undersigned has been personally been calling all of the above people on almost hourly basis, every day. Some times, when I call, these senior people had comments like "oh your plant is still not working". No body wants to take onus of the installation. We are really surprised at the careless and casual attitude of these senior persons of Apollo.

We have incured financial losses upto Rs.50 lacs, on account of delayed work, time & efforts in follow up by our senior management, staff salary and wasted efforts. Kindly treat this as a legal notice for claim of Rs. 50 lac for upto date losses. In case the the plant is not commissioned by today evening, we intend to return the plant and file claims in consumer court, as per the laws of the land.

Yours truly,

Vineet Aggarwal - Project Manager
