Airtel discontinued mobile connection while I was away on business trip. Although the phone was not used for one year, all dues were paid and a reserve prepaid balance of Rs 500 was kept to keep connection active. The service provider never communicated at the time of life-time service membership promotion that the plan was conditional for non-use for anyperiod of time. Airtel now dos not want to reconnect, neither wants to pay back the account balance. Airtel claims he number has been assigned, but when i dial the same number no one receives the call. I beleive this is a scam to get out of the life-time promotion and to cheat the consumer out of the money left in the prepaid account.
