Ridiculous customer care service!

I belong to Trivandrum-capital city of Kerala. I was using an Airtel Life Time pre-paid service since last one year. Yesterday ie:- 24-01-08 I lost my mobile with a talk time of Rs.750/-. I tried calling my number but was switched off. I wanted to block my sim, so that nobody will be able to make calls and finish off the talk time of Rs.750/-. I called the customer care at 8PM. I explained the call center agent the whole story and the reason to block the sim with immediate effect. But the agent was not able to help me. Upon my request I was transferred to the Customer Care Dpt Manager. He too turned out to be useless.

They merely said that they cannot help me in any way till next day ie:-25th morning. Their explanation was that, Airtel cannot offer any such kind of service after 6PM. I asked a counter question that "so what is the solution if a person looses his/her mobile after 6PM" to which the Manager answered that "sir its your head ache"

At least the story ended up as I lost my mobile with a talk time of Rs.750/- which Airtel customer care bluntly washed off their hands. Shouldn't I say "what a wonderful service and excellent responsibility!!!
