I purchased life time Airtel cell # 98066060169 in February. I did not use this card after April since I left the country, before leaving the country I check with the customer care regarding the international roaming charges then I told them I don't need these services on this number and I left the India with this Sim Card. I came back to India on 27th Decemeber 2009 and recharged the same sim card with Rs.333.00 once I did not the recharge message on my cell I called the customer service. I lady took all my details and asked me to recharge the card again which I was on phone with her at the same time I recharged the same with the internet banking again with Rs.333.00 I told her I don't see the message then she transfered to her supervisor. Her supervisor the lady took my both internet transactions payment details and told me that this number does not belong to me anymore, when I asked her about my recharged money. She said it will be credit back to my account or else she said If I purchase a new sim they will transfer the funds to that new number. I made more than 40 calls every day 2 to 3 phones calls to Airtel and most to the supervisor's told me the same thing, but till today they did not transfer the money to my new number.
When I purchased the sim card in 2008 there was no fine print saying that if the card is not in use for more than 60 or 90 days the number will be put into the market. Now I see that fine print on the sim card cover.
Today is January 14th and till today they did not transfer the funds to my new sim card which I purchased. I think Airtel is making money in this way. I request airtel to kindly reimbure the same or credit back to my ICICI account.
