Generation of Bill even after Disconnection of Broadband Service

I Have given a complaint with regard to generation of bill even after disconnection of Broadband service on 18/02 to the nodal officer through mail and I got a reply that my complaint would be processed by 22/02 but I am yet to get any response with regard to my complaint. Today I got another bill for the month of February. I have disconnected my Broadband service on 22/12, yet I have received bills for the month of January and February. Please resolve the issue and cancel the bills for the month of January and February for which I have not availed Broadband service.

Facts :

I have been using Airtel Broadband service for over 2 years in vellore, Due to further studies in Chennai I requested disconnection of my Broadband service on 22nd December and I gave a letter to the Airtel customer outlet at vellore regarding the same. I informed the lady at the customer service desk to cancel my BB connection immediately, since my bill date is 27th of every month. Then on 24th December I submitted the Airtel Phone Instrument and BB Modem and got an acknowledgement regarding the same in a letter.

I paid my December BB bill in January. In February I received yet another bill for the BB Service. I went to the customer care centre and asked them about it. I related the situation to the lady, for a brief moment she panicked and then told me that the cancellation has been done only on 9th January. I showed her the acknowledgement copy of submission of Modem and to that she replied that it takes 10 days for cancellation.

I cannot understand why it takes 10 days for cancellation of Service, Where the data could be processed immediately. I asked the lady to let me talk to the seniors. She led me to a person who is about 25 year old. I then related the situation to that person. The person pointed me to be seated and then for about 10 minutes he kept me awaited over his personal matters. He told me that I have to pay at-least Rs. 110 for the cancellation has been made only on 9th January. I told him I am not responsible for his and the lady's sluggishness and hence I will not pay the bill. He told me "You have to pay the bill, there is no other way".
