Unfair business practice in India

Hutch

www.hutch.in

Hutch practices an unfair business practice in India for pre-paid card services. My pre-paid minutes were erased and validity period was shortened.

I purchased Rs. 500 recharge voucher of validity of one month and loaded that on a prepaid card. After 6 weeks, without any usage the minutes are erased. Following are the unfair practices of Hutch.

1. Hutch is making money in the business by erasing the minutes within 2 weeks of expiry. Many other pre-paid vendors provide 3 to 6 months period to recharge without erasing the balance minutes.

2. There was no intimation that the minutes would be erased. The SMS only informed that validity would expire and I should recharge.

3. Until the documentary proof of residence was provided and accepted. I could not make any calls. The recharge should have been denied on deactivated card or the validity period should not have been reduced when the card was made deactive by Hutch.
