It has been over one month since I have been making request to the airtel customer care center to activate international dialing on my land line phone. The first time they informed that they would activate the same in 24-48hours. Never happened.
After that I again called about two weeks back. This time they said that they are having backend problems with their switches and hence international dialling to the USA is not possible. They are trying to fix it and the same would be activated within 24-48hours. Nothing happened.
Last night I again tried, but ISD was not available. I called their customer care, and the same answer as last time, was repeated "Backend problem with switch. Not customer problem. Its airtel problem etc."
I do not understand what is happening. I keep getting ticket numbers for the above problems. After 7 days I get sms saying "we hope your ticket has been resolved". But no, it has not been resolved. Airtel tells me that no Airtel land line user across India is being able to make international calls to the USA. Dont know about other countries. Can anyone verify the same for me?
How is it possible that such a large sized, highly reputed, india's one of the largest telecommunications company, not provide ISD facility to its customers??? It is ridiculous.
All I want is a simple activation of ISD facility and they cannot even do that much.
