Regarding: Airtel Prepaid Mobile No : 9650894596
1. I became a subscriber in end of February. This connection I had taken largely for use on Twitter.
2. My first charge was around Rs 200. I did tweet several times, but otherwise kept the phone turned off most of the time. My last two charges were for Rs 200 (on 12-10) and Rs 444 (24-05) and they finished rather quickly without my having done much tweeting.
3. On 25-07, when I turned the phone on after a long time, I received an SMS informing to the effect that "some Friendship Chat service has been renewed @ Rs 30 per month and that my balance was Rs 264. I was shocked.
4. I had never asked for any services. When I contacted customer service, I found out that I was being charged for two or three services -- don't know for how long -- perhaps for nearly the entire duration that I have had the phone.
5. I called 198 (Airtel) and wanted to speak to some executive; twice after punching numbers as I had been instructed, to be connected to an executive, I got the message that I should check the number I had dialled and call again -- and both these calls were charged for!
6. On 26-07, I was able to connect to an executive and complain about what had happened; he transferred me to some senior who had me repeat the whole thing. I also asked him to stop these unasked for services immediately and reverse all the charges they had deducted for the same, within twenty four hours.
7. The time limit I gave Airtel has passed and charges levied (for services not asked for) have not been reversed, nor any message received on action they proposed to take. That is why this step.
