Internet Banking Recharge never works

The Airtel prepaid recharge through internet banking never works. They have a claim that the phone can be recharged in 15 min, however, you can use only specific amounts for recharge (That is you can recharge only 100 RSs, 100 Rs, if by any chance you enter say 300Rs, your account never gets recharged). Even if you enter the correct recharge amount, the bank deducts the amount immediately, however, your mobile doesn't get recharged. I tried recharging my Airtel account through ICICI internet banking for Rs. 500. The amount got deducted, however, I never got my Airtel account recharged. A call to the customer service said, they don't know the problem, it could be a network problem and if it is, my account will get recharged in 72 working hours.

If it takes 72 working hours, then why claim the recharge works in 15 min. THis has not been the first time the problem has happened. This has been the 10th time and I have been foolish enough to trust that Airtel has a great payment gateway that will recharge the phone immediately. I have also been foolish enough to trust their customer service to find out the problem and recharge my account.

For all people out there, do not use internet mobile recharge from Airtel. It works erratically and if it doesn't work, you have no option but to wait for your amount to be credited back to your account or for the cell phone to get recharged.
