This is the copy of the email that I had emailed to Vodafone Care 2 days back. It explains my problem and even after 2 days, Vodafone has not Cared to reply:
Hello,
I had purchased a card on August 12 by calling your customer care at 111
They had sent me an executive from Andromeda Vodafone (contact Janet - 9619218126)
The card was delivered to me on August 13, number - 9820260514
As an address and identity proof, I had submitted my driver's license,
my office id card, and my payslip (since it was a corporate connection - Corp CUG 199 Plus)
Since my driver's license was not on my present address, they asked me to submit my
House Rent Agreement and a Police NOC (which had the photograph and address both)
which i submitted as a hard copy to them on 13th itself.
After 2 working days, when the card was not activated, I called 111 and they assured me that
someone will call me within 1 hour. Janet from Andromeda called me that day and asked me
to email her a scanned copy of my House Rent Agreement and the Police NOC, which I
emailed her on [email protected] from my office email address [email protected].
Even after this activity took place, the card was not activated for 2 days, and I called 111 to know
the status. I asked the executive if he could give me the contact number of Andromeda, so I can call
them myself and ask for an explanation, but he told me that they don't have the contact number
(which is strange by the way, cos they had sent the Andromeda guy to my office). I was assured
that the "Concerned Party" will call me back within an hour (which never happened).
I called 111 twice again yesterday, and both the times I asked for the contact number of Andromeda,
to which I got the same answer as before. My request to speak to a Senior Executive was also
denied by your Customer Care Executive. 1 hour turned into 1 day but I never got a call back.
Today morning, when I called 111 and asked them for a status, after shouting at the top of my voice,
they were kind enough to give me the contact number of Janet from Andromeda (which they could
have done very easily the first time I had called them). Although, my request to talk to a senior was
still denied.
Just a question here, why is it that I don't receive a feedback sms when I have had the worst experience
of my life with your Customer Care?
When I called Andromeda today finally, Janet told me that I will have to again submit my driver's license
address page cos they didn't have that. When I told her that they had not accepted that before and had
asked me to get the House Agreement and Police NOC instead, it turns out that since a week, Janet
had not checked her email account. Now, how is that my mistake?
Unfortunate for them, but fortunate for me, their Call Hold was not working properly, so I could very clearly
hear Janet getting tuitions in Computers and Email from her colleague, and their Raksh Bandhan discussions.
Then she spoke to her senior, who in a very unprofessional tone abused the customer (that's me) and asked
her to tell me to email the documents again, this time with the driver's license. I asked her to give the phone
to her senior to which the senior instructed her "bol saab buzy hai" (tell him the boss is busy). She
came back on the phone, asked me to email the documents, then without hearing me out, slammed the phone.
That was all I could take and I called her back and asked her to cancel the card and not activate it.
I asked them to email or sms me the reason of card cancellation (insufficient documents), to which
Janet said that I was the one cancelling the card, so it was not their fault, and they would not be
sending any email or sms, and slammed the phone again.
I thought of bringing this to your notice because I have been using a Vodafone connection for the
past 4 years now. And I have never in my life been insulted up to such an extent by Vodafone.
Seems like you are loosing touch on your "Happy to Help" campaign, or have employed worthless
and inefficient partners like Andromeda.
But it seems like I am not the first one to face issues like this. I was surfing the net, and this is what
I came across: http://inconsumercomplaints.com/complaints/andromeda-marketing-pvt-ltd-and-vodafone-c314727.html#comment
So here is the deal now; first of all, I don't want this connection activated, cos I think Airtel would be a
better choice. Second, I'll keep this SIM with me for 2 months and by any chance, if this
sim card - 9820260514 gets activated on my phone, or I get a bill, I will be carrying the printout of this email and
the card (and the bill if any) to the nearest Police Station.
Third, if I don't receive an explanation for this behavior from Vodafone within the next 2 days, this mail will be
posted on: http://inconsumercomplaints.com/
Fourth, if I don't receive an explanation for this behavior from Vodafone within the next 4 days, I will happily
disconnect my current connection - 9833987443 and switch to Airtel. Of course, it won't affect you guys
cos its just one post paid connection with a monthly bill of max INR 1000. But trust me, it will provide me
mental satisfaction.
And finally fifth, if I don't receive an explanation for this behavior from Vodafone within the next week, I will
be approaching the Consumer Court with a case against Vodafone and Andromeda for "Mental Harassment of a Customer".
Yes it will be painful for me to take the fifth step, but believe me, I took the pains to get an NOC from the Police
for a mobile connection. I'll take some more pains, but make sure you pay for your act. I have a simple
philosophy, "If you can't do your work properly, don't do it"
And next time, if a consumer is supposed to act (e.g.: submit some more documents), I think, its the
"Concerned Party's" responsibility to keep the customer in the loop, and not the customer's responsibility
to call the Customer Care again and again and get frustrated. It's time you start being proactive.
Waiting for your reply.
P.S.: I am posting this complaint on this website because Vodafone missed my first deadline of 2 days. Just so that you know, I received a call today from phone number 9833140965, asking me if I have any requirement of a new Vodafone sim card. When I inquired from where the person was calling, turns out it was Andromeda.
