We have planned to go on vacation to kodaikanal, so I booked a individual cottage (Black band cottage) which had 3 bed rooms. I contact the owner by seeing the website on the cottage name. He sent the photos of the cottages which would have been taken a long back. We agreed to for paying Rs 4000/- Per day. I don't have vechicle to go local sight seeing also we went by Train till kodai road, where needed a vechile. So again checked the cottage owner for vechile for Pickup, Drop and for local sight seeing. We came into a agreement of Rs 5500/- for pickup, drop & sight seeing. As per plan we down on kodai Road, the guy (owner brother) have came to pick us. We have been made wait in a resturtant on the way, because already there is guest staying cottage till 8.30 AM. I adjusted and we went to the cottage by 9.40am. The cottage doesn't look like as I seen in the photos.
Rooms were stinking, Floors was not clean and no power supply when went, he said power shutdown (2 hrs) through the town, for that also we adjusted, Post 10 am, Power came but there was a flucuation in the power, so not able to take bath in cold water, TV and lights were not working.
The guy promised us to take for sight seeing by 2.00PM, He came to cottage back by only 1.30PM with lunch that we order (2 Kg of Chicken with Rice worth for Rs 1050/-). By that it was too late to lunch and go for the sight seeing.
We shouted to the owners brother, since the owner was in Coimbatore. Finally decided to skip the sight seeing and to stay there itself that one day, becuase we have already paid accomdation rent of Rs.4000/-
The food that they provided was too spicy (he told it a home made) and was not upto the mark. Our first day plan was dropped becuase of all this problem, we were sitting in the room till 7.00 Pm there is no power we were sitting in the dark.
Next day we left the room by 9.30am contacted a private taxi for sight seeing and Dropping us to Kodai Road. It was very bad experience for us this time. We have learnt a lesson that no one should book the hotels thru online..
These kind of fraud fellows need to punished so that innocent people money would saved.
