Extremely pathetic customer service and humanity

We had booked a package for a honeymoon couple at the hotel "The Orchard Green" at Manali and transferred an advance sum of money to them. However, because of a death of the father of the groom, we could not visit the place and comply with the booking. We therefore, requested the hotel authorities, Mr. Rajiv to accomodate our advance and allot a credit note for a part of the advance and return the balance sum on humanitarian and compassionate grounds. The response given is that such deaths keep happenign in the number of 20s in a year with them and they cannot cater to such requests to return even a part of the advance.

While we shall be taking this up with the COnsumer Court and other NGOs catering to such problems, we intend to warn consumers to beware of bookings with this hotel. The e-mail id of the hotel is '[email protected]'. They have proved to be extremely unfriendly and unaccomodative in terms of customer service.
