AV working, HDMI not working

I have bought through IVRS a Airtel digital TV HD type set top box.

I got message on 20.03.2012 stating my customer ID 3010003539 and Order ID 1403988. Installation was scheduled on 21.03.2012 by 9.00AM as per the sms message received from Airtel.

On 21.03.2012 two persons came from Airtel franchise to install the connection at @ 4.30PM. In our building they have common dish for entire building. So from 4.30PM to 8.30PM they tried getting signal but signal was not coming. They got tired of and me as well and they went back stating they will bring instrument to check signal strength.

Next day another i.e. on 22.03.2012 another set of people came and they told signal was okay and there is problem of HDMI channels having lock. I have two LED TVs one from Sony and one from LG. I had connected LG at the time of installation. I also thought there could be issue with HDMI, so I installed Sony TV and removed LG. Even after installing Sony TV the singal from HDMI was not coming.

I have brought both TV from Muscat. I was using Sony TV and my friend was having LG TV. We both were using Indian Dish TV set Top Box in Muscat through HDMI cable. There was no issue of transmission of signal.

Third day another team came and checked and found some problem with LNB. Then changed LNB and singal started coming. With this signal TV was working with AV connection and there was no signal still from HDMI cable. They concluded that TV is problem and the Set top box.

As I was not at home I told them that laptop is getting connected through HDMI in both LG and Sony then why Airtel is not getting connected. For this they did not have any answers. I think they cannot think beyond certain point. I have seen may cases where in they have changed Aitel set top box due to problem of signal not coming,

Moreover I contacted their customer care number 08044448080 on Friday i.e on 23.03.2012. Somebody in name of Ankit received call and stated that he will get resolved the complaint by Saturday evening. Till saturday evening no body called. I call up same number again and asked regarding my complaint status, to my surprise they told that no complaint has been registered. They registered complaint again and gave number 17266211 and asked me to call number 8870712692 in case of any issue. I asked whether they will come next day as it was Sunday. They told they will definitly come and solve the problem within 24Hrs.

Till sunday after noon nobody called. I again called same number and informed about my complaint. They asked for address. As pin code was wrong they told hence the Engineer has not come. I was suprised with this answer. I asked them why didn't the concerned person called me on my mobile which was registered with company. They modified the PIN code and again registered complaint No 17283916. It was informed again that the Engineer will call and come before 6.45PM on sunday. Nobody called and nobody came. The number 8870712692 mentioned in SMS was found to be switched off always. Moreover they gave number of Crystal communication and asked them contact person for resolution. When I called up Crystal communication, the person incharge informed that the building I am staying is not on his purview. He gave me number of one Saran who is responsible for this connection. To my surprise they were the same people who had come for installation and did not have any clue of issue.

Today on 26.03.2012 I contacted Airtel digital office 42102783. They told that Engineer will be come and resolve the issue before this evening. There was one call from a person and informed that he has told Engineer regarding issue and he will call and come today. Meanwhile there were two called from airtel asking whether issue has been resolved. To my surprise even after telling them twice before regarding wrong PIN code still same mistake was being continued by them. Airtel registered two new complaints today 17305445 and 17308637. Airtel customer care called and registered the complaint. They also sent message stating complaint number 17266211 and 17283916 has been resolved even without any solution. This was last nail to the coffin. I again called up Airtel office number 42102783. They connected me to Crystal communication again and he directed me to earlier person.

This is going on round and round and I would like to return the box and discountinue my connection. I will also require refund of entire amount taken for installation process. I would request your help for the same
