I am the first customer of Airtel Digital TV in my locality, was proud
to here that indeed.
But I realised the big mistake I made by choosing such a irresponsible
company as DTH service provider.
My story begins within one month of my installation. I registered a
complaint (complaint no. 3713586) at 9.15 pm on 31st Aug. I was
told next day (1st Sep. 2010) before 1.30 pm my problem will be
solved. As there was no one at home, I had to take leave and wait for
the call or technician. Also I got an SMS confirming the complaint,
the message is like the following “ dear Customer, thank you for
contacting us. Your Service request no. is 3713586 for “Video
Problem”. For any further assistance please contact at 9611191051”
message received at 9.18 pm on 31st Aug. 2010
Nothing happened till 4.30 pm and then I had to again make a call to
the customer care at 4.00 pm on 1st Sep 2010 – I was told within 1 hr,
it will be addressed or I will get a call.
Waited for 90 minutes again the routine call back to customer care at
5.30 pm on 1st sep 2010 and had to listen to all the commentary and
to repeat the all story, and after lot of persistence I got to speak
to one Mr. Bala, Team Leader who committed within one hour I will get
a call to solve the problem.
Waited again for 90 minutes and 6.45 pm on 1st Sep 2010 called the
customer care, got a customer care executive and he was so rude and
has got the audacity to bang the phone.
But after that I got one more message on the phone stating the
following “dear Customer, thank you for contacting us. Your Service
request no. is 3721460 for “Wrong Resolution (Domino)”. For any
further assistance please contact at 9611191051” message received at
6.52 pm on 1st Sep 2010.
I thought I call the no. provided to get some assistance. But to my
surprise the person who picked up the phone told me it is wrong no.
and has nothing to do with airtel and he started abusing me that he is
getting too many calls. I told him to complain to airtel for giving
wrong No.
Again I made a call at 7.10 pm on 1st Sep one Mr. Yuvakanth
picked up the phone. He said in another 15 minutes I will get a call
back or someone will come. I writing this mail at 7.50 pm that means
40 min. passed nothing happened.
Now it is 1.35 pm on 2nd sep 2010 still no information... and i am waiting
I fail to understand the service levels of a company at this stature.
Silly mistakes of wrong numbers, wrong commitments, rude customer
support staff and what not….
I have decided not to recommend and discourage people from using any
services from Airtel. I have met different venders for different
services but this is the worst of services I have ever come across in
my life time.
Hope GOD save this company as it may not survive for long if the
services goes on like this
