Non receipt of debit card

My axis bank debit card expired on the 31st of July. Today it is the 23rd of August and I a yet to receive the new debit card. I have called the customer care 5 times by now. My last 2 complaint numbers are: 5417261 and 5402672. Apparently they are high priority compaints and have mentioned a call back from the branch. I am yet to receivve any call back from any branch what so ever. every time, every customer care agent says the same thing ' you will receive a call back from the banch, you will receive your card in 4 days, i understand your problem'. However, the problem remains unresolved and I am the sufferer since it is my only account where I receive my salary. I am having to borrow money from others and spend since I cannot withdraw it. My cheque book hasalso finished and I had sent a request for new cheque book from internet banking, but never received the cheque book as well.

This is simply propesterous and I will probably have only one solution, that is to close the account, in case I do not receive any sort of call from them immediately. I cannot think of any other way. May be I should cal the newspapers and tell them, since they are always eager to help citizens.
