Not showing reason for ECS Stop

Dear Sir,

I am writing in to bring some ECS related issue in your notice what I am dealing with HDFC Bank for last 10 days. You might wonder what might happen in only 10 days making me lodging this complain. The fact is I had asked 'Bajaj Finance' to get the premium for some loan amount (i had taken for two wheeler purchase) through ECS facility on my HDFC Account. BAFL (Bajaj Auto Finance Limited) placed the ECS on 8 Feb and it was stopped by Bank. Reason stated to BAFL is 'Payment stopped by Drawer' whereas I never asked Bank to stop that. Now BAFL is asking me to pay Rs. 350 as penalty whereas I am not guilty.

From then after I am trying to get the reason from different bank sources like Phone Banking, different branches (one close to my residence 'Airoli Branch, Navi Mumbai' and the other close to my office 'Vikhroli West Branch, Mumbai') etc to understand who has done mistake for this. While calling phonebanking I had been misguided earlier saying that payment stopeed by BAFL itself and then when I informed the reason shown to drawing party they started talking in a different tone - could be some system problem, talk to base branch.

For your information I am staying in Mumbai for last 4 and half years and base branch is in Kolkata. There are already other loans what I took in past from HDFC Bank itself and the premium amount is getting deducted every month through ECS only, and never got disturbed, obviously because it's their own product.

Coming back to main discussion track, phone banking people also informed that they raised some complain on the basis of my enquiry on high priority which takes 7 days to get resolved excluding weekends - another ridiculous process. Everyday I call them, a different person receives to whom I need to explain the problem details and he or she comes with the same solution - it takes 7 days time (although 5 days already gone). Also when I am talking to bank officials of different branches as I already mention - Airoli branch manager ask me to get some memo from BAFL for details of bounce and other investigations what he says I am responsible to carry out. Vikhroli branch officials saying it is lying with base branch, talk to them. I also written one letter as per their instruction and they still saying it is not replied with relevant information.

Now the fact is not about 350 rupees rather the harassment the Bank is doing with me for just giving a small piece of information. I simply asked them there is one transaction (ECS stop payment) in my account statement, show me the reason. What on earth can take that amount of time to get that info whereas they refer their bank is one of the very finest highly integrated modern times bank?

I am informing these detail not only for getting my problem solved, but I know this will happen to other people as well. Please do help stopping these kind of harassments bank doing to customers.
