Most unfortunately, two cheques were deposited from the Fort Branch HDFC Bank at Mumbai on 27th Feb. The value date as shown from the Netbanking site is 28th Feb. These cheques were issued by my employer against regular monthly salary disbursal. However the cheques still show that the value date is 28th Feb and they are yet to be valued actually. This is actually true for three of my colleagues, whose checks are also yet to be valued all deposited on the same day.
I have further got an information that the cheques were already debited from the bank from where they were issued.
And ultimately, because of this delay, today (on 2nd March), the cheque issued by me against my Home Loan EMI has bounced. Who is going to be responsible for this? Can HDFC Bank ensure that they don't deduct any charges because of this? And furthermore, please note that I have already lost the interest on this money for the last 2 days. Is the HDFC Bank going to take care of this?
