Transactions after losing my Card

I had a ICICI credit card with outstanding amount of nearly 71k as on August. I noticed that I had lost my card when i recieved SMS'es about the transactions done which were amounting to 62k at different stores. I Immediately called Customer care and informed about it and they kept asking me my card which I didnt have at that moment. Some how I managed to get the card number and informed them about the loss and transactions.

I cleared all the outstanding amount on my card for the transaction that I did and they reversed the amount which i reported after losing the card. They asked to get an FIR and submit it, but the Police denied issuing an FIR and instead gave me an Complaint copy.

I raised a issue banking Ombudsman stating I cant make the payment for the transaction that i havent done, but it was vain attempt as the person who represented the bank and the official at the Banking ombudsman had good relations. The reason the bank gave to reflect back the charges to my account was that I reported loss of card late by 30 mins whereas it took time for me to get the card number. I asked ICICI to provide me the charge slips of transactions and till date they havent sent me the same.

And yesterday I recieved a Demand Legal Notice asking me to settled all the dues which were accounting to 80K.

Please suggest how to proceed with further with such an issue.
