HOW EFFECTIVE IS INSURANCE OMBUDSMAN IN INDIA?
I HAVE LODGED A COMPLAINT AGAINST APOLLO MUNICH HEALTH INSURANCE FOR REFUSING THE POTABILITY CLAUSE TO ME ON A FALSE PRETEXT THAT IT WAS NOT APPLIED WHERE AS THE POLICY WAS PURCHASED BY ME WITH THIS PRE CONDITION THAT IT WILL ENTITLE THE CONTINUITY BENEFIT WITH MY PREVIOUS POLICY WHICH WAS FROM ICICI-LOMBARD .IN ORDER TO MEET THEIR CRITERIA OF PORTABILITY, I HAD PAID THE PREMIUM ON 5TH JAN i.e. 20 DAYS IN ADVANCE SO THAT THE SUBJECT POLICY IS ISSUED AFTER EXPIRY OF MY OLD POLICY i.e. 23 RD JANUARY. AS PER REQUEST AMHICO HAVE ISSUED THE POLICY COMMENCING 24TH JANUARY.
It is a simple case of refusing their basic obligation and an unethical act of a corporate house who should consider the eligibility of portability irrespective whether the clause has been requested or not?

Surprisingly, it has come to my notice that ONE POPULAR CONSUMER FORUM which is registering complaints on line displays pre-listed companies under a particular category and AMHICO NAME IS not there. Does not it reflect that the company is not participating in grievances monitory system?
