Hi,
I was an employee and credit card holder of ABN Amro Bank. The statement for credit card was always an issue; I never used to get my statement on time. Since I was employee of Bank, I used to get the information about the outstanding amount through other internal sources and used to pay the dues on time.
After I left the bank, I completely missed the payment of last outstanding amount of some INR 6000/- odd, and as usual, I never got my statement. It is only when I got the call from the bank; I got to know about this out standing amount.
I immediately, contacted their local credit card division at Andheri for settlement. The lady on the counter told me to settle the outstanding amount and they will waive off the accumulated interest of about INR 2000 odd. Which I immediately agreed. She also promised that you will get the settlement letter from their Delhi credit card division.
Since I was employee of the bank and I knew that their credit card processing happens at Delhi, I never insisted for the letter immediately after the payment.
I patiently waited for the letter but now after about more than 2 years, bank people have started calling me for the outstanding interest payment. Every time new person calls me and I have to explain him the entire story again.
Now I am tiered of doing this. I even tried to contact that leady again, but she either have got transferred or she is no more working with the bank.
The bank is already in trouble, after RBS took over the operations, they want to sell off their retail banking division as that is not a profit making unit in the bank.
I am sure; with this kind of issues they will lose more business.
Regards,
Amol Kotak.
