Sree Uthradom Thirunal (SUT) Hospital
Non-payment of Full dues

Sree Uthradom Thirunal (SUT) Hospital,

Sub: SUT Exe. Card A1 Member EA1 116

Re: SUT Exe. Card A1 Member EA1 116 – Maturity of the Membership scheme and non payment of all benefits.

I, N V Unnikrishnan, “Thejuss”, Mana Lane, Chembukkavu, Thrissur-680020.

I am an NRI employed in Kuwait. Pursuant to the notification for public introducing a fund raising for SUT by inviting investments under their Health Scheme, I had availed a membership for the sole purpose of availing such benefits by such investment.

The scheme contemplated one time investment of Rs. 1, 80, 000/-. The member like me would be entitled to get in return an amount of Rs. 2, 00, 000/- at the end of 10 years. Additionally, the member would get every monthly payment equivalent to 18% on Rs. 2, 00, 000/- coming to Rs. 3, 000/-. Moreover, the member and his family were to get a free perioidical check up.

I was paid the said monthly entitlements initially and thereafter the payments had become irregular and thus accumulating the principal amount remaining with SUT to the account of the member. Although SUT had committed defaults, they had offered and thus paid interest on the defaulted amount.

Unilaterally, SUT had reduced the interest payable to the investor/member from 18% to 12% contrary to the contractual rate of return without any consent of the beneficiary members.

Thereafter SUT paid such monthly entitlements at the unilaterally revised rates. Even the same were paid irregularly accumulating the same to the principal enjoyed by them for their business benefits. The same also became subject to interest thereon.

Stating to be towards final settlement SUT had paid to me the sum of Rs.3, 34, 632.00 under two cheques favouring me in October.

The said amount fell far short of my entitlement under the scheme and therefore I had communicated the same to SUT vide various letters by fax. Telephonic communication was also made to the staff in SUT. One of the Office staff (Lady) of Sri. Mr C Bharath Chandran had thereafter assured to get back to me after referring to the relevant records which did not occur ever since then.

In the situation, I am entitled to receive a further the sum of Rs.80, 000 as rent dues plus its interest for the last 3 years from SUT. My request to send me details of their payment, met no response.

The unilateral acts also amount to abuse of SUT's competitive and superior position and exploitation of the helpless investors.

I therefore, request you to please help me to recover from SUT the actual dues as soon as possible.

Look forward t hearing from you soon.

Unnikrishnan N V
