Two weeks back, I & my parents had booked an Indica on a saturday from Infy Mysore to Coorg & then around to Bangalore for two days. Paid them an advance of 3000/-.
BIT assigned a driver named Ramesh, aged around 50-60.
We reached Coorg, visited Raja Seat, it was good. Then the next day[sunday] early morning 8AM, I verified with the driver how much time it would take to Bangalore from Coorg, as I have a train to catch at 8pm. He replied 5hrs, if traffic at max 6 hrs. So, we started to Tala Kaveri from Coorg & returned back to Coorg city by 1pm.
Had lunch and started back to Bangalore by 2pm.
As we have a train to catch[Rajhadhani] from Majestic at 8:30pm, asked the driver to take us as fast as possible.
Now here's what the driver has done which costed us to miss the train & even almost Bus.
1. He was moving at a speed of 60kmph when the speed limit was 80kmph on the road.
2.By fate, there was a tyre puncture for which he took 45mins to replace it with a stepney.
3. Then the driver took a stop in the middle saying that he wants to buy something, to our surprise he went inside a Bar to consume alcohol.
4. So, we reached Mysore by around 5:30pm. Thought, we have 3 more hours, could easily make it to Majestic.
5. He took us to Mysore City again instead of regular Highway. When inquired he said we need to fill up the petrol tank at BIT petrol station, which he could have done anywhere else on the highway. This wasted us another 45 mins.
6. Started from Mysore around 6:15 pm. Now the driver stopped again saying he has to collect money from a shop, Not to our surprise he again consumed alcohol. This wasted us another 30mins.
7. When asked why was he wasting time in such vulgar things, he didn’t reply..
8. Driver was taking us at 50-60kmph pace, even after repeatedly asking him to move faster & that we are running out of time.
9. We reached Bangalore city at 9pm. So, I missed the train which I had booked for my parents to travel comfortably. This creates a loss of 2500/-.
10. So, now I booked 2 tickets of KSRTC VOLVO MULTIAXLE for my parents to Hyderabad from Shantinagar at 9:40pm.
11. Told the driver to take us to Shantinagar and not to Majestic as we have missed the train.
12. I was Shocked, when he took us to Indira Nagar and asking people where is the Volvo point in Shantinagar. The drunken driver was still thinking he is in Shantinagar. The time was 9:25pm.
13. I scolded him like anything, then I had to open google maps and direct him to Shantinagar from IndiraNagar.
14. Meanwhile, got a call from Volvo Bus driver whether the passengers are coming or NOT.
15. I requested him to Wait for another 10mins.
16. Finally, we reached Shantinagar at 9:50pm. I have thanked the Bus driver who waited for us.
Now, I told the Indica driver to leave without even paying a single paisa and raised a complaint at BIT travels.
This is the reply they gave
"We can't be held responsible if u have missed the train as it takes nearly 7-8 hrs from Coorg[as if I was travelling in ksrtc bus] & that our driver is a 20yrs experienced person who can't commit mistakes & has driven as directed by you. Coming to alcohol drinking, the driver said he hasn't done any such thing & that u can omit the driver charges of 350/-[for 2 days combined]."
One question for which they didn’t reply: "what if I have missed the Bus because of your 20yr experienced drunken driver, who took me to one place instead of another? "
So, my overall loss of 2500/-, for which Whole & soul BIT is responsible, is cheating its customers.
So, BEWARE OF BIT.
