Hi,

I had recently purchased a product online which was being sent by the merchant in the US, via FedEx. I never received the package, but I received an email claiming that the package had been delivered to me and the delivery location was mentioned as Navi Mumbai, and that the delivery point mentioned reception and proof mentioned Company Seal. The strangest part was that the last time when such a package was being delivered, I had received a call from the FedEx office, stating that there would be customs duty to be paid as it was a food supplement, and four days later the package was delivered along with the customs bill. But, this time there was no such call, and the package also did not come.

Now the irony lies that the shipping address mentioned was my residence address and it is on Godbunder Road, Thane West, which is close to 30 miles away from Navi Mumbai.

I called up FedEx, and informed them on the 14th of September about this issue, and they promised me that they will investigate the same and call me back either the same evening or in the morning on the 15th. She also mentioned that it was possible that since my employer’s name was mentioned on the package it was delivered to their office, and was ready to email me a proof of Delivery (POD). But, my employer has no office in Navi Mumbai, and this was not the first time that a package had come to me with the same shipping address from the same vendor and via FedEx. I never received any call from FedEx on that day on the next. I called them up again on 15th evening, and was told that the investigation was underway and someone would get back to me in the next 24 hours. But again as before there was no callback. On Friday, I finally went to their office in Chemtex building at Powai, Hiranandani Gardens, Mumbai, and met a supervisor, by the name Harshamrit, who promised me that he will get it investigated and give a callback by 4:30 pm on Saturday, with a positive response. On, Saturday I got a call, but all that Harshamrit told me was that he would call me back in half hour as he was trying to get in touch with someone on this issue, but, as usual he never called. I called up the FedEx office, and spoke to Aparna, who told me that she could send me the POD via email, but never got anything.

On Monday, September 20, I went back to the FedEx office, but I was told that Harshamrit had not reported to work, and some supervisor by the name Francis informed me that he would call check on the progress of the investigation and would call me the same evening by 6pm. But the moment I told him that I suspected fraud and needed to see the POD, suddenly the POD which was going to be emailed to me on Saturday, becomes non-traceable and, as expected Francis never called me.

I guess there are too many dark stuff happening at FedEx, and including supervisors are involved in this. But that is just speculation, but then one thing is for sure, and they have proved it time and again that FEDEX DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR DELIVERY SLA AND ALSO DOES NOT CARE IF THEIR CUSTOMERS ARE FACING ANY INCONVENIENCE BECAUSE OF THEM.
