IRCTC's agent
Overcharging of fare & commission

Respected Sir/Madam,

IRCTC’se-TicketingService-ElectronicReservationSlip Overcharging & misbehavior by the Agent

I wish to bring to your kind notice an incident of overcharging and misbehavior by the ITCTC’s agent. Being a retired citizen and heart patient I preferred to get an e-ticket from the agent Shri Amit Jain, M/s Amit Auto Spares, Shop No 130 12, Kamla Market, Khandsa Road, GURGAON 110 057 (Haryana) a day before my journey on 31st January from Bahadurgarh to Bathinda by train no. 2481 (INTERCITY EXPRESS). My son, who booked the ticket on my and my wife’s behalf, tendered Rs.500/- currency note to Mr. Jain who in turn handed over the ticket and returned Rs.250/. On checking the ticket my son found that the total chargeable amount comes to Rs.218.97 as detailed hereunder-

Total fare for second class Rs.182.00

IRCTC service charge Rs. 15.00

Transactionl charge Rs. 1.97

Agent’s charge @ Rs.10/- per ticket Rs. 20.00

TOTAL Rs.218.97

My son, therefore, asked the agent to return the balance amount of Rs.31.00 but Shri Jain refused and misbehaved with my son advising that the amount would not be returned come what may. I, therefore, earnestly request your good self to look into the matter and take suitable steps to avoid such overcharging and harassment to the old people like me & my wife.

(O P Billu)
