Payment did not get through

CITIBANK PLATINUM

on 27th December at 11pm tried to book rail tkt from Ernakulam North to Bangalore City by Kanyakumari express, by using CITIBANK PLATINUM Visa card

No.4386 2802 1103 0006 but the payment was not cleared and as a result the booking could not be done. This has put me a great inconvenience and shook my confidence in using Citibank card. Would like to know the exact reason.
