I had booked a ticket in 3rd AC in the train 17203 BVC KAKINADA EX for my daughter for the 5th of June. The train departed from Vasai (BSR) at 6.25 pm. There were no announcements made on the platform on the arrival of the train nor were any charts put up to confirm the coach positions. We had to search for the coach and run and board the train as its scheduled halt is only for 5 minutes! When we enquired with other co-passengers, they said the condition of Vasai was always the same. Isn’t this shameful?
To add to the misery, the train was loaded with passengers who had RAC and WL tickets - the TC in the coach was allowing all and sundry with luggage as weird as cricket bats, soft toys, buckets, pots and pans and around 8 – 9 unruly kids to board and sit in the compartment. Blankets and pillows were not provided and she had to ask the attender to give them to her. Finally she got a blanket that was stinking (wonder how many of them had used it before it was given to her). She did not get a sheet and pillow.
The PNR No. of the booked ticket is 8353621238. We do not grow our money on trees or plants to pay thru’ our nose for traveling comfortably with Indian Railways. She reached her destination without any sleep due to the inconvenience caused in the compartment by these unauthorized passengers. I demand refund of the money paid towards the ticket with suitable explanation and compensation from Indian Railways!
If traveling by 3rd AC is so bad, we cannot imagine the plight of passengers who travel by sleeper class. Shame on Indian Railways and their staff and services!
