Sir,

I Tejas Mehta R/o 3, Milan Park Society, Nizampura, Vadodara, had purchased a new Maruti Swift Petrol (VXi) through Kiran Motors Ltd, Channi Road, Vadodara, on 9th April and as of last Saturday it just has covered 3000 kms, driven by myself only. Friday evening, 16th July when I was driving in the city there was a burning smell coming from the engine area. The next day morning on 17th July I went to Kiran Motors Ltd. service station and I told them about the problem. They checked and informed me that the clutch plates, need to be replaced and I would need to bear the cost of approx. Rs.4000/-

I have owned a Maruti800, Zen and WagonR and am used to driving since last 15 years, I have NEVER got the clutch plates replaced in any of these cars, why do I need to replace it in the Swift? It is still a maruti product and they have been running fine for me all these years and have been an extremely satisfied customer all along, so why am I being asked for Rs.4000/-, dont you think its a manufacturing defect?

Also the swift has a k-series engine so the clutch plates are not in stock with the dealer and he will have to order it from Gurgaon, which will take one week, due to which my car is stranded at the dealer's place since last Saturday.

The details are given bellow:

Model: Swift VXi (K Series Engine)

Color:--White

Reg No: GJ6 DG 7239

Model: 2010

Company: Maruti Swift VXI
