I had a very bad experience on Wednesday (4th May, 6.00 PM) with the emergency break down service. Kind of response I got from the concerned is very disappointing and irresponsible.
Noticing, a sort of a burnt smell and the temperature indicator right on red, I parked my Omni van (KA-04 MF 2105) in a by lane on the victoria road, bangalore and immediately called your 1800 4200 for help, who in turn took all details and assuring a return call from the local in about 10 minutes. Yes I got the call and on informing of the problem, I was asked to check the state of the coolant, which was found to be all right and I noticed the belt being broken. On informing him of this, he expressed his inability, as he doesn’t have the one. Then after 10 minutes I got another call asking for the problem. I clearly explained the fact that the belt is broken and needs to be replaced, for which he agreed and said will be there in half an hour.
He reached after 45 minutes in a maruthi mobilr servie van (KA02 MA9921) and just looking at it says he doesn’t have the belt to replace, as they are not provided with the spares and it is difficult to get at this hour (7.45PM approx) and the only option left is to tow it down to their workshop in Wilson garden. So then I spoke to the manager, Mr Venkatram (mob no. 9945235518), explaining him of the situation and to help. Surprisingly he expressed his inability, as the people attending on the break down services are not provided with the spares (even the small ones like the belt), due to some internal problems of mishandling (which I am in no way concerned). He had in turn suggested to get it towed to his place and get the belt replaced, that too with the condition subject to their stores being open or the other option to get it repaired in a nearby local garage.
I was totally disturbed by the situation and had no other option but to exercise in my own way by calling another person, through some contact. On explaining him the problem, he arrived as soon he could and replaced the belt, which he brought along with (an old and used one, with a small damage) and alerting with an assurance of no immediate problem, but to replace with a new one at the earliest. We should appreciate his presence of mind. With this caution I could safely drive home around 9.30 Pm. Being a local l could manage, imagine the plight of a stranger with the kind of so called emergency breakdown experts you have! Quite disgusting.
First of all I don’t understand for such a small problem (which hardly takes few minutes to fix the problem) why should it be towed to their workshop about 3 Kms away and that too with the lots of uncertainty. I can understand and justified for a major problem, the necessity of taking to the workshop. When you claim your 24hr emergency breakdown service with all state of the art communication facilities, it should be done with the full justice and not the advice of getting it done in a nearby garage/workshop, after waiting for long. With this kind of experience it is highly unreliable to rely on you and highly disgusting. If this is the kind of reply, how do we can depend on you.
