Luggage stranded in Mumbai airport for 2 weeks

Hello,

This is regarding a nightmerish experince I am having with the Mumbai Airport Customs department for last 2 weeks. I landed in Kolkata from USA on 21st December morning, but my luggage didn't arrive. I am in touch with Kingfisher Airlines (my domestic carrier from Mumbai to Kolkata) since then. I have provided all the neccessary information to them including my passport, ticket, boarding passes etc, and then forwarded those documents to the Mumbai customs authority by 23rd December. It has been 10 full days after that, and I still come to know from Kingfisher that there has simply been no response from the Mumbai authority. I have tried to inquire about this through one of my neighbours who works in Kolkata airport Customs, and he also said the same, absolutely no response from Mumbai authority.

I simply have no idea how the customs of India's biggest and showpice airport can be so ignorant and careless about the loss of a passenger! To be frank, it's hardly a 1 hour work to verify all of my documents, check the luggages, and hand it over to the Kingfisher authority, and they seem to be in a competition to break the 'world record of carelessness'. It's already 2 weeks, and I have no idea when I would actually receive my luggage. This is terribly shameful act from the Customs authority of a country, which we all claim to be shinning in the 21st century!
