I ordered a Dell Studio 15 Laptop (Core i5, 4/500GB, 1GB Graphic Card) of on 1st of June. On the same day I made the payment of Rs49000. And I haven’t received it yet.
We went to the Branch in Jodhpur located at Residency road. The manager there assured us that the laptop will be with us within 15 days. I am a Computer Engineering student and have constant need of a PC. I also had my university practicals around 19th of June and had to submit a software project. But since I did not have a laptop I had to run here and there all around the city to get it done. When I finally enquired about the laptop on 19th same manager told me that there are some “compatibility Issues” with the new processor and some upgrade is causing the delay. He told me to come back on 22nd. When I went on 22nd the manager had changed. The New manager then found out that that my laptop has not been even registered yet. He then gave me a Registration No. He said that the old manager did not know anything about customization of the laptop (even though I gave him the customized webpage of Dell) and did not do any kind of registration. He (old manager) has been cooking stories for the last 20 days for reasons only known to him.
This is Pathetic!! I have been forced to come to the shop for every enquiry as the phones are unresponsive. And still I didn’t get a definite answer. Do you realize how much difficulty I had to face and have been facing? This is a serious breach of consumer rights/ providing wrong information/ denial & delay in the service by a well recognized company.
